Plotterpix is an X-Y plotter: a head that moves along two rails. PictiaX® is an articulated robot arm. Both draw in pen on paper, but an arm working in front of people is part of the show, and that's what makes a guest stand there and film it. That's a good chunk of what an operator is being paid for.
Getting in for €439 is getting in cheap. What decides whether the business works is what you charge per portrait and how many you do in a night, not what you paid for the machine. Before you compare purchase prices, run the numbers on one of your own events with both.
Three years of warranty with shipping covered and a replacement unit if you have an event on, plus 500 portraits included that never expire. If you're comparing, ask for those two figures in writing from whoever you're looking at. That's what actually costs you money in year two.
